Hearapy for iPhone?

Samsung made Hearapy for Galaxy.
We made Stillwave for iPhone.

Samsung's Hearapy app uses a 100 Hz sound to relieve motion sickness — but it's only available on Android. Stillwave brings the same research-backed approach to iPhone. Both apps work with any earbuds, but noise-cancelling earbuds are recommended.

Why we built Stillwave

When Samsung announced Hearapy in April 2026, it validated something exciting: sound can help with motion sickness. The Nagoya University research is real, peer-reviewed, and promising.

But Samsung made Hearapy exclusive to Android. If you're an iPhone user, you were left out.

Stillwave fixes that. We took the same published research (Kagawa et al., 2025, DOI: 10.1265/ehpm.24-00247) and built an app that works on any iPhone with any earbuds.

We also added features Hearapy doesn't have: a 2-hour protection countdown timer and smart earphone detection that guides you to use noise-cancelling earbuds in a quiet environment for optimal results.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hearapy available for iPhone?

No. Samsung's Hearapy is only available on Android. Stillwave is an independent alternative that brings the same 100 Hz research-backed approach to iPhone users. Both work with any earbuds — noise-cancelling recommended.

Is Stillwave made by Samsung?

No. Stillwave is an independent app by Nullpointer Studio. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Samsung in any way. Both apps are independently based on the same publicly available research from Nagoya University.

Does Stillwave use the same technology as Hearapy?

Both apps are based on the same principle: a 100 Hz pure tone that may help stabilize the vestibular system, as described in the 2025 Nagoya University study. Stillwave is an independent implementation of this publicly available research.

Do I need AirPods Pro to use Stillwave?

Both Stillwave and Hearapy work with any earbuds. However, noise-cancelling earbuds like AirPods Pro are strongly recommended — Active Noise Cancellation blocks ambient noise, letting the 100 Hz tone reach your inner ear most effectively. Use in a quiet environment for best results.

Why does Stillwave cost $0.99 when Hearapy is free?

Samsung bundles Hearapy as a value-add for their Galaxy ecosystem. Stillwave is an independent app with no corporate subsidy. The $0.99 price is a one-time purchase with no subscription, no ads, and no data collection — a fair trade for a tool you'll use on every trip.

Will this work as well as Hearapy?

Both apps implement the same core mechanism: playing a 100 Hz pure tone at 75-85 dB through earbuds. The research suggests the frequency and duration matter more than the specific app. For best results, use noise-cancelling earbuds in a quiet environment. Stillwave adds a 2-hour protection timer that Hearapy doesn't have.

Don't wait for Hearapy on iPhone.

Same research. Works with any earbuds. Built for iPhone.
